2019 Winter Indoor Field Hockey

We are excited to offer Field Hockey for our fourth season! Field Hockey is one of the world’s oldest sports in existence played internationally by both women and men. As we kick off this year, URC will be participating in the Frederick County Youth Field Hockey League again this year. We are looking for players, as well as community Volunteers, to help us make this another successful year. There are ways for everyone to get involved, please email if you want to help or have ideas for our program!


Urbana Rec Council (URC) Field Hockey – Winter Indoor League 2019/2020

URC Field Hockey is offering a winter indoor program in coordination with Howard County Recreation and Parks (HCRP) field hockey league. This is a great opportunity for experienced players to continue playing field hockey through the winter months.

Player Requirements:
- Open to all middle school girls currently in 6th, 7th or 8th grades (combined team)
- Must have played one season of fall field hockey
- This league is not recommended for first-time players

- Players must have indoor stick  

Season Dates:
8 weeks starting December 15-March 1 (no games 12/29, 1/5, 2/2, 2/16)

- Sundays 4-7 pm, Meadowbrook Athletic Complex in Ellicott City  

- There are NO practices for winter indoor field hockey, only games

Registration Fee:
- $100
- Includes league shirt, officials, field

Players will need to provide the following equipment:
Field Hockey Stick
Shin guards
Mouth guard

Eye Protection (Goggles/ Mask)



 An Urbana Penny will be provided for the girls to wear to practice and games which they will keep.


 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!:  We are in need of adults who are willing to give their time to help coach or assist in coaching a team.  Adults do not have to have field hockey experience! Volunteers make the season successful.  We will be teaching our coaches as well as our players.
